Ah, I see.  It never occurred to me that you could modify metal armor at the tailor.  Thank you very much for the reply.   :)

So I bought a nice set of armor in Valstiir for over 1k gold.  Problem is, it looks completely goofy.  I'm playing a big, beefy, half-orc female and the armor gives me these little, twiggy arms.

Lame-O.

Is there someplace besides the initial start area that you can modify the appearance of your armor?

Yeah, I'm sure I'll get the knack again after some practice.  It's just been a loooong time since I last played the game.   ;)

I'm returning after over a decade to play this lovely old game and have a question:  Is there a setting that can make the tree canopy and/or rooftops transparent/invisible?  While I enjoy looking at them, I find they greatly obscure my tactical view when trying to fight and navigate around.

Also, I have this thing were after I transition from one area to another, the screen is like pitch-black and I can't see a thing.  It's not a vision thing either, as both my characters can see in the dark and it sometimes happens during daytime.  Any ideas about what might be causing that?

Thanks for any tips you guys can give me.  Really been having a blast in your excellent PW!  8)

General Discussion / Re: Discussion: Monster/non-standard races
« on: April 16, 2018, 05:53:12 pm »
Setting considerations probably need to be taken into account.  Anything not human and Netherese would either be considered fit only for slave stock or extermination.  Half-breed races that could pass for pure human, close up, would probably integrate the most easily, though they would have to be careful about who they revealed their nature to.

Of course, standard races have this problem too.  I play a half-elf and a gnome, for example.  The half-elf is acutely aware he will always be nothing more than a second class citizen.  And the gnome is a former slave of a Netherese archmage who has no illusions about some other wizard enslaving him again, if the whim takes them (although, my gnome is batshit crazy and isn't particularly bothered by the prospect.  :D).

On the other hand, extremely powerfully gifted extraplanar species might be able to garner enough respect to visit an Enclave if they mind their manners and the high-magic nature of the setting means there could be lots of exotic species owned by the Netherese as slaves.  This particular era of Faerun is one in which seeing bizarre creatures on the streets could actually make sense.

I would say throw whatever you want in there, just make sure to add RP guidelines on how you think the species would be perceived and integrate into Netherese society.

Heya,

Recklessfireball here.  I'm getting back into NWN nights after the bioware server lists went down way back in the 2000's.  This game is pretty much the only online rpg format that ever appealed to me and I'm ecstatic to see it getting a chance for a come back.  I've been on just briefly to play my character; a vain, indolent, half-elf enchanter named Prosper Feign.  I'm still getting my land legs, so to speak (kind of having to learn everything all over again- plus the many special server features), but the bit of roleplay I've enjoyed so far has been really great and I look forward to more of it in the future.

Very excited to be playing with all of you!  ;D
